New FW Release Spider : v2.12 is out!!

We are proud to announce our new Spider firmware v2.12 has been released. This release of the Spider RFID reader is a periodical feature release. Please note that the basic of all Spider RFID readers is the Spider Core and therefore this release covers all types of Spider RFID readers..


Release notes of the Firmware v2.12:

  • Initial CCID Smart Card Reader USB interface implementation
  • Support for PC/SC compliant Mifare Classic reading and writing in CCID mode
  • Added new "USB Device Interface" mode "CCID" (mode 8)
  • Added support for inepro HID OMNIKEY SAM (inepro part number P275750) (working since 2.8.0)
  • Added support for HID Mobile Access credentials over BLE (iOS and Android) and NFC (Android only)*** (additional HID OMNIKEY SAM module required)
  • Extended the BLE protocol to support reader maintenance over BLE from the “Spider RFID Reader Tool” (Windows PC tool)
  • Added format DEZ310 (mode 11) to “USB Backward Compatible UID Format” setting. Intended for 5-byte UID transponders like Unique/EM4x02 where first (MSB) (manufacturer) byte is printed as a 3 digit decimal value and the remaining 4 bytes as 10 digits decimal without separation characters (working since 2.10.2)
  • Added support for strip leading zeros (“USB Backward Compatible Output Length” setting = 255) in combination with “USB Backward Compatible UID Format” options (working since 2.10.2)
  • Fixed card reader output for various non-byte-aligned transponders like some HID Prox and Indala formats (broken since 2.8.0, fixed since 2.10.3)
  • Fixed Indala formats “RAW without Start-Bit” (mode 253) and “RAW without Start- and Last-Bit”(mode 252) (broken since 2.4.0, fixed since 2.10.3)
  • Added custom format “Wiegand 36” (mode 9) to “Mifare ID Mode” setting on request (working since 2.10.4)
  • Improved detection of N10002 formatted HID Prox transponders
  • Resolved an issue in saturated BLE environments (i.e. presence of hundreds of BLE peripheral devices in range)**
